Tools Every Candle Lover Needs!
If you love candles, this post is for you! Whether you just started burning candles, or you've been burning candles for years, these tools are a must have. They can improve the overall burn performance of your candles which in turn will extend the life of you candles.
First up is the wick trimmer. The ideal length for a wick is between 1/4" and 1/2", and trimming your wick to that length each time you burn is recommended. If the wick is too long, it will cause excess smoke and sooting. (you know, that black stuff on the wall or ceiling after burning your candle.) This also can cause the candle to burn too hot, which will cause the candle to burn up faster, shortening the life of the candle. This is where the wick trimmer comes in. It has a long handle that allows you to get down to the wick even after several burns. It also has a flat surface that catches wick debris allowing for easy disposal.
Scented candles smell wonderful, but the smoke they give off after blowing them out, not so much. Well a tool I just recently discovered solves that problem, the wick dipper. This simple tool allows you to dip the wick in the melted wax extinguishing the flame with no smoke and no unpleasant smell. This one blew my mind, I had been just blowing my candles out for years.
The last tool I have for you is the candle snuffer. Candle snuffers have been used for centuries to extinguish candle flames. The wick dipper is a relative new comer to the candle game, but the candle snuffer is the veteran. Once again it's a simple but very useful tool, it's a small dome that goes over the flame extinguishing it.
All of these tools are super helpful, dare I say necessary, for any and all candle lovers to have.
